3JTech’s New Generation Infrared Modem

3JTech releases its second version of Infrared modem, PP2I-5600B of Pegasus III series. It comes with a 100~240 VAC adaptor and can also use four AAA rechargeable batteries. The modem weighs only 2.22 ounces and has a dimension of 2.5” x 3.7” x 0.8”. When the modem is not transmitting data for more than five seconds it will automatically operate at lower frequency to save power. It will also automatically shut down 1 minute after the line is idle.

The modem also comes with a serial cable for direct connection to desktop or notebook computers. The Infrared communication of the modem has been tested with different Operating Systems including Win CE, Palm, Psion, Linux, DOS and PenBex and Windows, etc.
